Anthony J. "Tony" Toso, ARA, was raised in west Modesto and now resides in the lower foothills of Mariposa County in the small gold rush community of Hornitos. Tony spent the first 10 years of his agribusiness career as a loan officer working on simple to complex credits in the Farm Credit system, and he began his appraisal career in 1999 initially performing personal property and chattel appraisals. In 2002 he began appraising real estate and earned his Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) designation in 2008 from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Tony's appraisal specialties are cattle ranches, conservation easements and permanent planting developments, and he has also been a licensed real estate broker since 1998. Tony lives on a 1,400-acre cattle ranch with his wife Danette, who are partners in Cotton Creek Ranch with Danette's parents, Dick and Donna Wilkey where they run about 125 beef cows. Tony is an ELT vice president and is the CFO of the company. In addition Tony has served as a past Second Vice-President of the California Farm Bureau Federation, and is the immediate past President of the California Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. In addition he is the cattle industry representative on the Mariposa County Ag-Advisory Committee, as well as past president of Mariposa County Farm Bureau (and still sits on their board of directors), past board member of Producers Livestock Marketing Association, and past president of the Merced-Mariposa Cattlemen's Association. He and Danette have two daughters Alyssa 24, and Gianna 23. Gianna graduated in December of 2017 with an agricultural business degree from Fresno State and now works for Agrian (agricultural computer software company) in Clovis, California. Alyssa works for Gorrell Performance Horses in Hanford, California and is in process of transferring to Fresno State majoring in Agricultural Communications. |
